Asante Marie Owusu-Brafi is a poet and sculptor based in Shanghai. Asante’s work spans music composition, film, painting, and performance. As a welder artist, Asante transforms found objects into expressive sculptures that explore the interplay between practicality and symbolism. 

Past collaborations have included performances with SteppenWolf theater, The Chicago Architecture Biennial, and the Elastic Arts Foundation. Asante Owusu-Brafi was a previous resident at The Poor Farm's residency, Living Within the Play and Dark Matter Residency.
